Greenfield, Indiana, is served by nine schools — six elementary, two middle, and one high school — enrolling about 4,968 students across three districts: Greenfield-Central Com Schools, Mt Vernon Community School Corp, and New Palestine Community Schools. Roughly 48% of students attend elementary schools, 23.6% attend the two middle schools, and 28.4% attend the one high school. The districts differ noticeably in overall standing: New Palestine ranks in the 90th percentile statewide, Mt Vernon in the 74th, and Greenfield-Central in the 69th.

Brandywine Elementary School is close behind at the 86th percentile with 4 stars, beating its own strong New Palestine district in ELA and math.
