Summary:
ZIP code 61605 has four elementary schools: three K–8 schools in Peoria School District 150 and one PK–8 school in Pleasant Hill School District 69. In 2025–26, all-grades ELA proficiency ranged from 19% to 27%, while reported math results ranged from 7% to 12%. The statewide results were 56% in ELA and 40% in math, so the most important finding is that every reported school result was well below the state benchmark, even though scores were relatively close from school to school.
Pleasant Hill Elementary School led all-grades ELA at 27%, about 2 percentage points ahead of Annie Jo Gordon Community Learning Center at 24%; Trewyn Primary School had 21%, and The Elise Ford Allen Academy was lowest at 19%. Gordon led reported math at 12%, 4 points above Trewyn at 8%; Allen had 7%. Gordon also stood out in eighth-grade ELA at 46%, 16 points above Trewyn’s 30%. Pleasant Hill’s 2024–25 eighth-grade science result was another exception: 47%, compared with the state’s 45% and 5% or less at each of the other three schools.
ELA averages rose about 1 point from 2024–25 to 2025–26, but the state result rose 3 points, widening the average gap by about 2 points. Allen, Gordon and Trewyn’s average math result rose about 2 points, slightly more than the state’s 1-point increase, narrowing their average gap by about 1 point. SchoolDigger percentile ranks improved over the available years for all four schools, though the rankings remain a separate measure from proficiency. Student-teacher ratios ranged from 11.3 at Trewyn to 15.5 at Allen. All four schools reported free/reduced lunch eligible figures for 2024–25: 92% at Gordon, 94% at Trewyn, 95% at Pleasant Hill and 97% at Allen; these figures are context, not an explanation for results. Pleasant Hill has no reported 2025–26 all-grades math result, and some grade-level scores are unavailable.
