Summary

The Elise Ford Allen Academy is an elementary school located in Peoria, Illinois, serving grades K-8 with a total enrollment of 624 students. It is part of the Peoria School District 150, which is ranked 769 out of 811 districts in Illinois and has a 0-star rating from SchoolDigger. The school has consistently ranked among the lowest-performing elementary schools in the state, with a 0-star rating from SchoolDigger for the past several years.

The Elise Ford Allen Academy consistently performs significantly below the state and district averages in both English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics. For example, in the 2024-2025 school year, only 10.7% of students were proficient or better in ELA, compared to 29% for the Peoria School District 150 and 53.1% for the state of Illinois. In Mathematics, only 5% of students were proficient or better, compared to 18.4% for the district and 38.5% for the state. The school also has high rates of chronic absenteeism, ranging from 25.4% to 39.4% over the past few years, which is significantly higher than the state and district averages.

While the Elise Ford Allen Academy has had relatively high spending per student, ranging from $12,916 to $23,360 over the past few years, the school has not shown significant improvement in its academic performance over the past several years. This suggests that the school may need to re-evaluate its instructional strategies and support systems to better address the needs of its student population. Nearby schools, such as Glen Oak Community Learning Center, Dr. Maude A. Sanders Primary School, and Lincoln School, while still performing below state averages, have higher proficiency rates in both ELA and Mathematics.

Open Quote At Roosevelt magnet the students come first I am one myself and I am graduating 8th grade 2 weeks prior from today, I have been in dance and drama advanced and have learned new things like how to perform different types of characters and have discovered different techniques I can use to stay in shape. Roosevelt has developed my dancer mind and body. My teachers are excellent! especially Mrs.Dodds my literature teacher she will push you to the limit and makes me do things that are hard to overcome but it is all for my benefit I have gained so much from her. All of my teachers have benefited and gave me hope and it shines through my work I will miss everything dearly - Thea Clark Close Quote
