Summary:
The 60067 zip code in Illinois has only one middle school, Walter R Sundling Junior High School, which serves grades 7-8. The school's performance has declined in recent years, dropping from a 4-star to a 2-star rating by SchoolDigger and falling from 384 out of 1,363 schools statewide to 854 out of 1,368 schools.
Walter R Sundling Junior High School's proficiency rates in English Language Arts (36.8%), Math (25.9%), and Science (36.2%) are significantly lower than the Palatine CCSD 15 district averages (55.1%, 42.9%, and 49.4%, respectively) and the state averages (53.1%, 38.5%, and 45.4%, respectively). The school also has a high chronic absenteeism rate of 25.4% and nearly 40% of its students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch, indicating potential socioeconomic challenges.
Despite the school's relatively high spending of $18,544 per student, its academic performance remains below district and state levels. This suggests that the school may be facing significant challenges in providing a quality education to its students, and there is room for improvement in addressing the factors contributing to the school's declining performance.
