As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote The people who are saying this school is in the slums is only scared of diversity. Community high school now has a 1:1 technology program where every student is given a chromebook to incorporate technology into the classroom. The teachers are excellent, and there is a great selection of classes and extra curriculars. Close Quote

Open Quote Honestly, this school gets a bad reputation for no real reason. Coming from the high-end middle school that feeds into this high school, I initially thought this school would be a piece of crap given the smaller houses and apartments around it. I've found that the comunity is actually not ghetto. Now, as a junior, this school is a lot better than people let on. The higher levels teachers are great and push students to work hard. I can't speak for the lower level classes, but in the higher level classes, the courses seem more or just as challenging than other surrounding schools. The school is clean and well put together. The athletics are not the greatest, and there are a large number of lower-class students who simply don't try, but there are also a lot of really down-to-earth, hardworking students. As for the gangs, they aren't an issue whatsoever. Surrounding high schools have more fights and gang-issues than this one. Fights are pretty rare here. Honestly, the nicest thing about this school is that it is less catty, cliquey, and drama-prone than other high schools in the conference. It probably gets a low rating due to so many of the kids blowing off state-testing or not being able to read english very well since the majority here are hispanic. I definitely do not believe this school should get one or two stars. The academic opportunities here are better than one may expect. Most teachers have their masters and some are doctors. The kids who take full advantage are getting a very quality education! Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
