Chsd 94

The West Chicago Community High School is the only school listed in Chsd 94; it serves grades 9–12 and has 2,040 students. In 2025–26, the school’s results were below the state’s in all nine reported test comparisons, with an average gap of 10 percentage points.

The school’s closest result to the state in 2025–26 was 10th-grade science: 44% proficient, compared with 48% statewide, a 4-point gap. Its largest gap that year was 11th-grade ACT ELA, at 36% versus 50%, or 14 points below the state. The largest gap across the two years was in 9th-grade ELA in 2024–25: 46% versus 62%, a 16-point difference. Because this is the only school listed, it is both the top and bottom by default—not evidence that it leads or trails nearby schools.

PreACT results improved in five of six comparisons from 2024–25 to 2025–26, while all three 11th-grade ACT results fell by 7 to 8 points; the average ACT gap widened from 5 to 12 points, even as PreACT gaps narrowed in both grades. Other context: the student–teacher ratio was 14.7 in 2024–25, and 40% of students were free/reduced lunch eligible in 2021–22. In 2025–26, chronic absenteeism was 33%, versus 24% statewide, while graduation was 86%, compared with 90% statewide.
