The school is part of the Darien School District 61, which is ranked 271 out of 811 school districts in Illinois and has a 3-star rating from SchoolDigger.

Eisenhower Junior High School has consistently performed below the state and district averages in both English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics proficiency on the Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR) exams. For example, in the 2024-2025 school year, the school's ELA proficiency rate was 50.3% compared to the state average of 53.1% and the district average of 56.3%. Similarly, the school's Mathematics proficiency rate was 44.8% compared to the state average of 38.5% and the district average of 51.4%. Additionally, the school has significant performance gaps among different student subgroups, with the Asian and Hispanic student groups ranking in the bottom 25% of Illinois middle schools, while the African American and White student groups performed better, ranking in the middle 50% of Illinois middle schools. Eisenhower Junior High School also has consistently higher chronic absenteeism rates compared to the state and district averages, with a rate of 25.4% in the 2024-2025 school year.

Interestingly, Eisenhower Junior High School's academic performance lags behind many of the nearby middle schools, such as Clarendon Hills Middle School, Herrick Middle School, and Gower Middle School, which consistently rank in the top 25% of Illinois middle schools. The school's relatively high percentage of students from low-socioeconomic backgrounds, with 39.66% of students qualifying for free or reduced-price lunch in the 2023-2024 school year, may be a contributing factor to the school's lower academic performance. However, the school's relatively low student-teacher ratio of 10.9 in the 2023-2024 school year suggests that factors other than staffing resources may be contributing to the school's academic challenges.

Open Quote This school is absolutely fantastic. Academics in the school are perfectly taught, and by teachers who are both patient and incredibly encouraging. Sports in the school give students key opportunities to shine and create strong friendships. This school is easy to adjust to, especially if you are new to Darien. In my opinion, and in the opinions of many others, this is a perfect school, in a perfect town, occupied by perfect students and faculty. The school also has many clubs students can develop a passion for, including our band (Which is also the most traveled band in the country, going to Los Angeles; Toronto, Canada;Hershey, Pennsylvania; Orlando, Florida; Washington State; etc.) supplying students with their own instruments, Choir,Creative writing club, and even the Duct tape club! Which was the students idea. And yes, students may create new clubs if they wish! On a scale of one to ten, I give this school an eleven! Close Quote
