Open Quote Gower Middle used to be a great school. Since the new superintendent and the new principal have been hired it has consistently been going down hill. The superintendent is all about budget cutting when it comes to the foreign language program and the teaching staff, but finds money in the budget for new secretarial staff in his office. The principal consistently dismisses parent concerns and questions with a very snotty attitude. I believe this school used to be great, but now every year brings more disappointing changes. About Student-Teacher Ratio
Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
