Summary:
Tri Point CUSD 6-J serves 343 students in three schools spanning prekindergarten through grade 12: Tri Point Elementary School (PK–3), Tri-Point Junior High/Elementary (grades 4–8), and Tri-Point High School (grades 9–12). The clearest academic strength is the junior high’s mathematics performance: in grades 4–7, proficiency was above the state in every grade, averaging 19 percentage points higher.
Tri-Point Junior High/Elementary stands out most consistently in math, with results 16 points above the state in grade 4, 29 in grade 5, 25 in grade 6, and 6 in grade 7; its ELA results were more mixed, from 5 points below the state in grade 5 to 16 above in grade 8. Tri Point Elementary School had a strong grade 3 math result in 2025–26: 57% proficient, 8 points above the state. The available high-school results were close to or below state levels, and its graduation rate was 78%, compared with 90% statewide. Elementary absenteeism was the highest of the three schools, at 44%.
Recent results improved in several areas, but not across the board: elementary grade 3 math rose 30 points from the previous year, while junior-high grade 5 science fell 30 points and high-school grade 9 science fell 7. SchoolDigger gives the district three stars and ranks it 337th of 738; its junior-high percentile rose from 56 to 63 over the three years shown, while its high-school percentile fell from 71 to 56. In 2024–25, student-teacher ratios ranged from 7.0 at the high school to 11.3 at the elementary school. All three schools reported the same low-income measure, free/reduced lunch eligible, for 2024–25: 96% at the junior high and 85% at each other school. Chronic absenteeism was also above the 24% state rate at all three schools. Because the schools serve different grades, their results do not support a simple overall ranking.
