Summary:
Tri City CUSD 1 has one high school, Tri-City High School, serving grades 9–12, with 154 students. Since it is the only high school in the area, there is no meaningful comparison among local schools; families can instead look at how its results compare with state results and change over time. The most important finding is that in 2025–26, its 11th graders scored above the state in all three ACT subjects: by 26 percentage points in ELA, 9 in math and 19 in science.
Tri-City High School is both the top and bottom of this one-school group, so there is no local ranking to distinguish schools. Its strongest results were 11th-grade ACT ELA (76%, compared with 50% statewide) and science (67%, compared with 48%). Performance was more mixed in other grades: 9th-grade PreACT results were above the state in ELA by 9 points and science by 10, but 1 point below in math. Tenth-grade PreACT ELA and science were below the state by 7 and 6 points, respectively; the school’s math result is suppressed and cannot be compared. Across matched results, the average gap was 9 points above the state in ELA, 8 above in science and 4 above in math.
Results improved sharply on the ACT from 2024–25 to 2025–26: ELA rose 34 points, math 21 and science 39, while state results changed little. Ninth-grade PreACT ELA and math also rose 23 and 28 points, but 10th-grade ELA fell 18 points and science fell 4. SchoolDigger’s overall rating rose from 2 stars and the 49th percentile in 2023–24 to 4 stars and the 75th percentile in 2025–26. Other context: the student–teacher ratio was 12.7 in 2024–25, and 42% of students were free/reduced lunch eligible that year. The 2025–26 graduation rate was 90.0%, close to the state’s 89.8%; chronic absenteeism was 23.8%, compared with 23.5% statewide and 17.4% in the district.
