Summary:

Millburn CCSD 24 has two schools serving prekindergarten through grade 8: Millburn Elementary School (PK–5) and Millburn Middle School (grades 6–8); no high school is listed. In 2025–2026, both schools were above the state in all-grades English language arts (ELA) and mathematics: elementary scored 71% in ELA and 60% in math, while middle scored 75% and 60%. The strongest shared finding is that both schools substantially outperformed the state, especially in mathematics.

Millburn Middle School leads in ELA, scoring 4 points above the elementary school; in math, the schools were virtually tied. Compared with state results of 56% in ELA and 40% in math, the elementary school was ahead by 15 and 20 points, respectively, and the middle school by 19 and 20 points. SchoolDigger gives both schools 4 stars, ranking the elementary school at the 75th percentile and the middle school at the 84th. Grade-level results vary more than these overall figures suggest: elementary math ranged from 47% in grade 5 to 77% in grade 3, while middle-school math fell from 64% in grade 6 to 54% in grade 8. Science results are for different grades—grade 5 at the elementary school and grade 8 at the middle school—so they are not directly comparable.

Recent score trends differ by school, even as the state improved: from 2024–2025 to 2025–2026, elementary ELA fell 3 points and math fell 1, while middle-school ELA rose 2 points and math rose 1; state results increased by 3 points in ELA and 1 in math. Both schools remained above the state, though the average school-to-state advantage narrowed by 4 points in ELA and 1 in math. SchoolDigger’s rankings also declined between 2023–2024 and 2025–2026: 12 percentile points for the elementary school and 6 for the middle school. For context, in 2024–2025 both reported free/reduced lunch eligible shares of 21%; student-teacher ratios were 12.4 at the elementary school and 12.9 at the middle school.
