Antioch CCSD 34

Antioch CCSD 34 has four schools in Antioch, Illinois: three elementary schools serving kindergarten through grade 5 and one school serving grades 6–8. In 2025–26, the three elementary schools averaged about the state level in all-grades ELA and math, but that average hides wide differences between schools. The clearest finding is that Oakland Elementary School was a strong standout in both subjects.

Oakland led the elementary schools with 69% in ELA and 49% in math—17 percentage points and 12 points ahead of the next-highest school, respectively. It also scored above the state in both subjects. At the lower end, W C Petty Elementary School had the lowest elementary ELA result at 47%, while Hillcrest Elementary School had the lowest math result at 35%. In 5th-grade science, all three elementary schools exceeded the state: Oakland scored 65%, Hillcrest 57%, and Petty 53%. Antioch Upper Grade School was above the state in all three reported measures, including 59% in ELA, 41% in math, and 59% in 8th-grade science.

Recent changes were mixed: the elementary ELA average lost 3 percentage points relative to the state from 2024–25 to 2025–26, while the math average lost 9 points of its earlier lead. Oakland’s ELA score rose 6 points, but its math score fell 10; Petty’s ELA fell 5 points, and Hillcrest’s math fell 5. Context may help families compare schools: for 2024–25, free/reduced lunch eligible students made up 25% at Oakland, 34% at Hillcrest, and 39% at Petty; student-teacher ratios were 11.8, 12.4, and 15.1, respectively. These measures do not sort results perfectly: Hillcrest’s math score was below Petty’s despite its lower ratio and eligible-student share. SchoolDigger’s statewide percentile also declined from 80 to 67 for Oakland and from 63 to 36 for Petty between 2023–24 and 2025–26, a separate measure from test proficiency.
