Summary:
Greenfield CUSD 10 has two schools in Greenfield: Greenfield Elementary School, serving pre-K through grade 8, and Greenfield High School, serving grades 9–12; together, they enroll 417 students. The main concern is that Elementary’s all-grades results are well below state proficiency: in 2025–2026, ELA was 37% versus 56% statewide, a 20-point gap, and math was 24% versus 40%, a 15-point gap.
The schools show different strengths rather than one clear across-the-board leader. Elementary’s strongest result was fifth-grade science, at 49% proficient—1 point above the state—and fourth-grade math was 6 points above. Its clearest weakness was eighth-grade ELA: 32% proficient versus 63% statewide, a 31-point shortfall. High’s ninth- and tenth-grade ELA results were close to state levels, respectively 1 point below and less than 1 point above; ninth-grade science was 36%, 11 points below the state. High’s graduation rate was 92%, 2 points above the state.
Recent changes were mixed. Elementary’s all-grades ELA gap widened by 11 points and its math gap by 5 points from the prior year, while fifth-grade science improved by 18 points and moved from 10 points below the state to 1 point above. High’s ninth-grade ELA rose by 22 points, while tenth-grade ELA fell by 7. SchoolDigger’s statewide percentile for High climbed from 28 to 51 between 2023–2024 and 2025–2026; Elementary was at 43 in both years. In 2024–2025, free/reduced lunch eligible shares were 45% at Elementary and 35% at High; student-teacher ratios were 11.6 and 7.2. These are context, not explanations for results. Because the schools serve different grades and eleventh-grade ACT results are suppressed, direct score comparisons have limits.
