The two schools in Carrier Mills-Stonefort CUSD 2 serve PK–12: Carrier Mills-Stonefort Elementary School has 300 students in PK–8, and Carrier Mills-Stonefort High School has 94 students in grades 9–12. The main takeaway is that results vary considerably by grade: elementary eighth-grade ELA exceeded the state rate, while the elementary school’s all-grades ELA result was below it.

The clearest bright spots are eighth-grade ELA at the elementary school and ninth-grade results at the high school. In 2025–2026, elementary eighth-grade ELA proficiency was 73%, compared with 63% statewide, or 10 points higher. High school ninth-grade PreACT Secure proficiency was also above state rates: 71% in ELA versus 62% statewide, and 57% in science versus 47%, both about 10 points higher. Results were not strong across every grade: elementary fifth-grade ELA was 37% versus 55% statewide, 18 points lower. The high school’s 2024–2025 eleventh-grade ACT results were also below state rates in ELA, math, and science, by 20, 23, and 17 points, respectively.

Elementary all-grades ELA moved farther below the state rate, falling from 47% in 2024–2025 to 39% in 2025–2026 as the state rate rose from 53% to 56%; the school’s shortfall widened from 7 to 17 points. SchoolDigger’s rankings moved in opposite directions: the elementary school fell from the 31st percentile in 2022–2023 to the 18th in 2024–2025, while the high school rose from the 23rd percentile in 2023–2024 to the 73rd in 2025–2026, and earned 4 stars in its latest rating. In 2024–2025, free/reduced lunch eligible students made up 61% at the elementary school and 55% at the high school; student-teacher ratios were 10.7 and 9.7. Chronic absenteeism in 2025–2026 was 19% at the elementary school and 26% at the high school, compared with 24% statewide. Because the schools serve different grades and use different assessments, their overall test results are not directly rankable; the elementary school’s latest math and science values are suppressed.
