Galatia CUSD 1 has three schools serving 363 students from kindergarten through grade 12: Galatia Elementary School (K–5), Galatia Junior High (6–8) and Galatia High School (9–12). Results vary considerably by school and subject: Junior High is a strong ELA performer, while math is the clearest shared academic challenge, with both IAR schools below the state.

Galatia Junior High stands out in 2025–26 All Grades IAR ELA: 67% of students were proficient, 11 points above the state’s 56%. That was 33 points higher than Galatia Elementary School’s 34%, which was 22 points below the state. In IAR math, however, Junior High scored 28% and Elementary 24%, versus 40% statewide; both schools were below the state. Galatia High School had a 100% graduation rate, 10 points above the state, but its grade-11 ACT math and science results were 11 and 5 points below state results. Its 35% chronic absenteeism rate also exceeded the state’s by 12 points.

Recent changes are mixed rather than district-wide: from 2024–25 to 2025–26, Junior High ELA rose 19 points, while Elementary ELA fell 10; math increased slightly at both schools. High School ACT science improved 16 points over the same period, while grade-10 PreACT ELA fell 14 points. SchoolDigger rates the district 2 stars and places it in the 46th statewide percentile; its latest listed school percentiles are 56th for Junior High, 48th for High School and 39th for Elementary. In 2024–25, student-teacher ratios were 14.6 at Junior High, 9.5 at Elementary and 9.6 at High School. All three reported free/reduced lunch eligible (FRL) figures for 2024–25: 51% at Junior High, 49% at Elementary and 47% at High School. Grade spans and assessments differ, so results across unlike grades and tests are not directly comparable.
