Summary:

The three schools in Bradley School District 61 serve pre-K through grade 8: Bradley East Elementary serves pre-K–2, Bradley West Elementary serves grades 3–5, and Bradley Central Middle School serves grades 6–8. The 2025–2026 test results supplied cover West and Central, not East, and the schools serve different grade bands. The clearest concern in the reported results is math: West and Central average 24% proficient, 16 percentage points below the state’s 40%.

The schools lead in different subjects. Central stands out in English language arts, with 57% proficient—15 points above West’s 42% and 1 point above the state’s 56%. West leads in math, with 33% proficient, 18 points above Central’s 15%; even so, West is 6 points below the state, while Central is 25 points below. Both schools’ science results also trail their same-grade state comparisons: West’s fifth-grade score is 39% versus 48% statewide, and Central’s eighth-grade score is 44% versus 52%. These school-to-school science scores are for different grades.

Scores generally improved from 2024–2025 to 2025–2026, but relative progress was stronger in math: both schools raised their math scores, and their average math gap with the state narrowed from 17 to 16 points. ELA improved less than the state overall, though Central rose 4 points and moved from just below to just above the state result. Science also climbed—7 points at West and 19 at Central—while remaining below state levels. SchoolDigger gives both schools one star; Central ranks in the 30th percentile and West in the 26th. Their 2024–2025 student-teacher ratios were 9.3 at Central and 11.9 at West. All three reported the same low-income measure, free/reduced lunch eligible, for 2024–2025: 63% at East, 65% at West, and 66% at Central. These figures provide context, not an explanation for score differences.
