Mount Prospect’s 14 listed schools—10 elementary, three middle and one high school—span early learning through high school and enroll 7,890 students, with school sizes ranging from 175 to 2,245. The results are not uniformly high or low: elementary ELA proficiency ranges from 28% at John Jay Elementary School to 77% at Lions Park Elementary School, a 49-point spread. The most important takeaway is that school-to-school differences are substantial, so area-wide averages can hide very different results.
Prospect High School stands out against the state: its 2025–2026 ACT proficiency was 78% in ELA, 68% in math and 76% in science, about 28 points above state rates in each subject. Among elementary schools, Lions Park led in ELA and math at 77% and 67%; Indian Grove Elementary School was also strong at 70% and 65%. Lincoln Middle School led its group in ELA (86%) and math (58%).
