Open Quote As a mother of a student with Autism I have to say that this school is exceptional. The students have gone out of their way to include my son and make him feel as though he is one of the crowd. They always greet him and help him though his "meltdowns". The teachers have gone above and beyond to help him with out overdoing it. This is an impoverished school system with a public library that is open only 2 days a week. I moved from the city where they helped my son to the point of learned helplessness. This school has pride and determination. Every student is seen as though they can do anything and the world is their oyster. There are a lot of clubs and sports. There are clubs for Christians and clubs for personal character development, there are just to many to mention.
I have seen teachers in the local stores and they always stop to say hello and ask how you and your child are doing. They know your family and your child, your not just another face in a large crowd. Even our bus drivers say hello. If you want your child to grow up included and with a sense of personal and community pride. This is the place. Yes i know it is 10 miles past where you hear the banjo's play. That is why it is uncontaminated and unspoiled and it is still a close knit community with room for more.
But if you want Mayberry with all the love and support, and churches that are abundant with care and good country folks. This is the place. I am glad I moved here to where the roots are strong and the the children are tended by the teachers and community as if they were their own. Close Quote
