Summary

Shiloh High School is a public high school located in Snellville, Georgia, serving around 2,200 students in grades 9-12. It is part of the Gwinnett County School District, which is ranked 67 out of 206 districts in Georgia and has a 3-star rating from SchoolDigger.

Compared to other schools in the Gwinnett County and DeKalb County districts, Shiloh High School consistently underperforms on academic measures. For example, in the 2024-2025 school year, only 25.5% of Shiloh students were proficient or better in American Literature and Composition, compared to 44.4% in Gwinnett County and 40.4% statewide. Shiloh's four-year graduation rate has also been around 84-85% in recent years, lower than the state average. Additionally, Shiloh has a high percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch, ranging from 64.73% to 74.45% in recent years, significantly higher than nearby Gwinnett schools like Parkview High School and Brookwood High School, which are among the top-performing high schools in the state.

While Shiloh High School's performance is generally better than the nearby DeKalb County high schools, the gap is not as wide as the comparison to the Gwinnett County schools. The high percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch and the relatively higher student-teacher ratio at Shiloh High School may be contributing factors to the school's lower academic performance and graduation rates. Addressing these challenges will be crucial for Shiloh High School to improve and provide a better educational experience for its students.

Open Quote Test scores are a poor way to rate a school, especially when they have a high influx on non-English native speakers & and refugee community within their district. Close Quote
