Summary

Renaissance Elementary School in Fairburn, GA, serves approximately 750 students in Pre-K through 5th grade within the Fulton County School District, and it has shown remarkable, steady improvement over the past eight years—climbing from the 20th percentile statewide in 2017-2018 to the 49th percentile in 2025-2026.

One of the school’s standout strengths is its work with African American students, where it ranks in the 77th percentile statewide—a 4-star rating that far exceeds its overall school ranking. This is a significant achievement and suggests the school has developed effective strategies for supporting this group of learners. Another major bright spot is attendance: chronic absenteeism has dropped dramatically from 27.4% in 2021-2022 to just 10.9% in 2025-2026. That rate is now better than both the district (16.6%) and state (17.7%) averages, and it’s the second-lowest among nearby schools, trailing only Palmetto Elementary School (7.8%). Given the strong link between attendance and learning, this improvement is likely a key driver of the school’s rising academic performance.

Academically, math proficiency improves as students move up in grade—rising from 34.9% in 3rd grade to 45.4% in 5th grade—though all grades still trail district averages. Science is a relative strength, with 5th graders hitting 41.7% proficiency, close to the state average (44.2%) and well above nearby schools like Gullatt Elementary School (27.4%) and Chattahoochee Hills Charter School (23.3%). Compared to its neighbors, Renaissance sits in the middle of the pack—outperforming Gullatt, Chattahoochee Hills, and Campbell Elementary School, while trailing Stonewall Tell Elementary School and Cliftondale Elementary School. The school also operates efficiently, spending $17,083 per student—less than Palmetto ($21,962) or Lee Elementary School ($19,594)—while still achieving solid results. Special education students (30th percentile) remain an area for growth, but the school’s consistent upward trajectory suggests systemic, lasting improvements are taking hold.

Open Quote My daughter attended Kindergarten at Renaissance. The administration and faculty are very organized! This really helped my family transition into a "big kids" school. We looked at several private schools in the area and to our surprise, we were most impressed with Renaissance. Independence and accountability is emphasized and expected from all students from DAY ONE! I am very impressed with this organization!
