Open Quote Hi! My name is Carlos and I graduate elementary at this school. First off, the reason why I gave this school a 2/5 is because they're are so many teachers that don't really solve student situation. When I was around all my childhood in this establishment, I can definitely see a lot of kids that are mean to others on purpose. For example, someone shuved me really hard on purpose while I was throwing away trash. Another reason why I give this rate is, because the food is absolutely DISGUSTING. My friend one time was choking on a burger cause it clearly had something in it. IDK what it was (don’t remember). But that time was when the ambulance came by saved my friend and led the school to have a “MEDICAL LOCKDOWN.” So in a summary, I think that Brookwood Elementary School MUST IMPROVE THE Consequences that occurs. Thank for spending your time reading this and hopefully you guy can get an Idea or this school. Close Quote

Open Quote My daughter started at Brookwood Elementary when it opened in 2009 as a first grader. She has had wonderful teachers who have pushed her and influenced her to truly love school. Kathie Braswell, the principal, is very involved in every aspect of Brookwood. She's very approachable and cares greatly for her students. I'm very happy that we have such a superb school in Forsyth County. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
