Open Quote This school has a very poor monitoring system of their students. The students are able to do a number of inappropriate things both in the classroom, in the bathrooms of the school as well as on the bus to the school itself.
The teachers are unable to settle children down for others to learn and some make it impossible to concentrate and get the necessary information needed for a good education.
Teachers are unable to properly input information in grading systems or are untrained in the system or maybe just don't care enough about efficiency of students grades to learn correct procedure.
Principal is ignorant to the lack of teacher discipline in the classroom and in some cases to what his teachers are doing in the classroom at all!! When crude and inappropriate situations are brought to his attention, he accuses the child of making things up or just plain out lying until numerous parents have called to complain.
I started homeschooling my children this year due to the complete dissatisfaction I have with the Laurens County School system. The whole system as well as the old and new superintendent are a joke where educating our children, who are our future, is concerned!!!! Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
