Academically, Clarke Middle School consistently outperforms the district and state averages in Milestones Assessment/Algebra I, with proficiency rates ranging from 54.4% to 83.7% over the past few years, compared to 31.8% to 36.4% for Clarke County and 35.8% to 44.9% for Georgia. In English Language Arts, the school's proficiency rates are also higher than the district and state, ranging from 33.6% to 48.2% for 8th grade, compared to 28.6% to 34.9% for Clarke County and 39.8% to 44.7% for Georgia. Interestingly, while Clarke Middle School outperforms other schools within the Clarke County district, such as Coile Middle School, Burney-Harris-Lyons Middle School, and Hilsman Middle School, it lags behind schools in neighboring districts, including Commerce Middle School, Jefferson Middle School, and Dove Creek Middle School. This suggests that while Clarke Middle School is performing well within its district, there may be opportunities to learn from the instructional practices and curriculum of the higher-performing schools in the region.

Open Quote We love Clarke Middle School! Our kids play school sports and participate in the Clarke Scholars as well as band and the arts. The organic garden and goats are a real plus. Don't let the state standardized test scores scare you-- the kids get a great well-rounded education and the teachers really care. Plus it's an International Baccalaureate school with a focus on foreign languages. Close Quote
