Open Quote Chattahoochee county high school may have small class sizes but the students are not being provided with an education that prepares students for college or vocational schools. The school lacks various technology, up to date textbooks, and other programs that student need to be acclimated with to be competitive with other students in the state. The educational requirements at this school are very minimum and does not compete with other curriculum's in metropolitan areas. Students that have graduated from this school with college level grade point averages (3.0 or above), have chosen not to attend college or fail during the first year of college due to the minimum education their high school provided for them. These students have explained that although they had an A or B grade point average, the education they received at Chattahoochee High was not sufficient enough to prepare them for higher learning. Parents have complained , meetings have been held , and still no solution to this problem. The school system, students, and school staff know the problems that need to be solved in order for the students to receive a better education. However, nobody wants to fix the problem ,just pretend like they do! Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
