These schools—J.C. Booth Middle School, Rising Starr Middle School, Bennett's Mill Middle School, Whitewater Middle School, and Flat Rock Middle School—all outperform state averages in most subjects, but there are notable differences between them.

Rising Starr Middle School is the top performer, ranked #24 in Georgia (96th percentile), with the lowest chronic absenteeism rate (5.4%) and the lowest poverty rate (14.9% free/reduced lunch).
