Cleveland Court Elementary School is a public elementary school in Lakeland, Florida, serving 398 students in grades K-5. The school is part of the Polk County School District, which is ranked 61 out of 67 districts in the state.

Cleveland Court Elementary consistently outperforms the Polk County and Florida state averages in standardized test scores across all grade levels and subjects. In the 2024-2025 school year, 77% of 3rd graders, 72% of 4th graders, and 63% of 5th graders were proficient or better in English Language Arts, compared to 50% and 57% for Polk County and Florida, respectively. However, the school lags behind the high-performing Magnolia Montessori Academy, South McKeel Academy, and McKeel Academy Central in the area.

Despite its strong academic performance, Cleveland Court Elementary faces challenges with higher chronic absenteeism rates compared to the state average, ranging from 30.9% to 39.1% over the past few years. The school also has a relatively high percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch, suggesting the student population may face socioeconomic challenges. The school's higher spending per student, ranging from $10,809 to $12,618, indicates a commitment to supporting student success, but the gap in performance compared to the top-performing charter schools in the area suggests room for improvement.

Open Quote My child has had a very good experience at Cleveland Court. The campus is older and open with a lovely central garden/library area, and doesn't look like a prison like all the newer schools do. The kindergarten classes have recess, but all the higher grades don't. (I wish they did). All grades have PE and art and music classes weekly. The school has a S.T.E.M. program and all the classrooms are well-equipped and have SMART boards. The teachers have a relatively low turnover rate and all the teachers I have had contact with have been eager, caring educators. Communication with the parents is very good, I have had teachers contact me the same day when I called with a concern about my child's grade in a class. I do feel like my child is spending too much time learning how to take tests sometimes. The PTO is active and inclusive. The street the school is adjacent to is very busy and can be scary, but the crossing guards are amazing and I feel safe letting my child cross the street when they are on guard. Close Quote
