Summary

Academy At The Farm is a K-8 public school in Dade City, FL, serving 761 students within the Pasco County School District, and it stands out as a high-performing school in a region with stark contrasts. The school has consistently earned a 4-star rating from SchoolDigger for the past decade, with a peak of 5 stars, and currently ranks in the 80th percentile statewide (#447 out of 2,240). Its academic performance is dramatically higher than many nearby schools: for example, 5th grade math proficiency is 88%, compared to just 44% at Centennial Elementary School and 48% at Watergrass Elementary School. Similarly, 8th grade math proficiency is 91%, outpacing even other high-performing K-8 schools like Pinecrest Academy Wesley Chapel (83%) and Kirkland Ranch K-8 (89%).

The school benefits from a low student-teacher ratio of 15.4:1 and a chronic absenteeism rate of just 14.9%, which is roughly half the district average of 29.2% and far lower than struggling schools like Woodland Elementary School (46.6%) and West Zephyrhills Elementary School (45.6%). The school also spends $13,045 per student, the highest among its comparison set, suggesting strong resources to support learning. However, one notable anomaly is that 9th grade English Language Arts proficiency was only 52%, below the district average of 61%, though this likely reflects a small group of advanced students taking high school-level courses.

While Academy At The Farm has seen a slight dip from its peak ranking in the 93rd percentile in 2016-2017, it remains a top choice for families seeking a well-supported, community-focused school. Its location in a less densely populated area may make it a destination for those wanting a high-quality education outside of suburban corridors. For parents comparing options, this school consistently outperforms nearby peers, though it is worth monitoring the 9th grade ELA scores to ensure all students are supported.

Open Quote To put it mildly, this school was the worst decision we ever made. Please look elsewhere. Their focus is no longer on special needs children. Close Quote

Open Quote This is the worst school I have dealt with! We came from a very good charter school and I can safely tell you that Academy at the Farm is not where you want to put your child. There is more emphasis placed on technology rather than hiring quality teachers. If there was ever an example of teaching to the test, this would be the place. Don't let their school grade mislead you. Please look elsewhere, so your child can get a quality education from qualified & caring teachers!! Close Quote
