Summary

Greenacres Elementary School in Greenacres, FL, is a public school serving 773 students in grades PK-5 within the Palm Beach district, where 70.5% of students qualify for free or reduced lunch.

Greenacres Elementary stands out as a true powerhouse in mathematics, consistently outperforming both the district and state averages by wide margins. For example, in 5th-grade math, the school achieved an 86% proficiency rate—20 points above the district and 24 points above the state—making it the top-performing school in its immediate area for this subject. This math success is supported by higher-than-average per-student spending of $16,183, which is notably more than nearby schools like Berkshire Elementary ($13,689) and Somerset Academy The Dr. Bernard Kimmel Campus ($11,291). However, this strength is not mirrored in English Language Arts (ELA), where the school lags significantly. In 5th-grade ELA, proficiency was only 42%, compared to the district's 63% and state's 61%, creating a 44-point gap between math and ELA performance—the largest disparity observed among nearby schools.

The school's overall state ranking has been volatile, jumping to the 62nd percentile in 2024-2025 before dropping to the 48th percentile in 2025-2026. This instability contrasts with the steady upward trend of Forest Hill Elementary, located just 1.33 miles away, which has a similar demographic profile and spending but offers more balanced performance in science and ELA. On a positive note, chronic absenteeism at Greenacres has improved significantly, dropping from 32% in 2021-2022 to 22.8% in 2023-2024—now below the state average of 31.4% and the district average of 23.4%. This improvement is a strong indicator of a healthier school environment, and the school's future success likely hinges on replicating its math excellence in the ELA classroom.

Open Quote This schol is the example of how to not judge a book its cover. The stadards for this school is much higher than I would have expected. They are very strict and that is a good thing. My child's teacher is organized, on top of everything, and very sweet. The only negative thing I can say, the teachers at the drop off for car riders just chat with each other and NEVER open your child's car door to help them out. Close Quote
