Open Quote Absolutely horrible school. Inaccurate record keeping, they have marked my child absent and unexcused 3 times when my child was either there or had a physicians note. They threaten 6 year olds with a paddle for no apparent reason. They do not provide a safe learning environment, they do not follow legally binding IEPs or the laws and regulations surrounding them, they lie about events happening at school causing significant decline in academic progress and emotional distress and are incompetent enough to put all of their lies in writing. This school is corrupt and very much disregards the well being of the children attending this school. This school caused physical, mental and emotional harm to my child and then refused my child the right to call me for help. I attempted to discuss my concerns more than 15 times with his teacher, the principal, ESE, and the superintendent for Calhoun county. My child has now missed school due to the fear for his safety and this will be discussed with the department of education, cadre works, the court and the news if I must to ensure my children are receiving a proper education in a safe learning environment. This school needs a major reform. Our children deserve better. The changes I have seen in my child’s behavior and decline in academic progress since attendance at this school is undeniable and severe. This is something no child should have to go through again. About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
