Delmar School District

The Delmar School District in Delaware operates two schools - Delmar Middle School and Delmar High School. While Delmar Middle School has shown improvement in its statewide ranking, reaching 27th out of 59 Delaware middle schools, Delmar High School has experienced a decline, dropping from 14th to 27th out of 41 Delaware high schools.

Delmar Middle School stands out with a 3-star rating from SchoolDigger and relatively high proficiency rates in English Language Arts, with 44.2% of 8th graders proficient or better. In contrast, Delmar High School has a 2-star rating and lower proficiency rates in SAT English Language Arts, SAT Mathematics, and DeSSA Science and Social Studies compared to state averages. Both schools, however, share a concerning chronic absenteeism rate of 20.4%, significantly higher than the state average.

While Delmar Middle School appears to be performing better than Delmar High School, the district as a whole faces challenges in student achievement and attendance.
