Parish Hill High School has consistently ranked in the top half of Connecticut high schools, with a ranking of 49 out of 145 schools in the 2023-2024 school year, earning a 3-star rating from SchoolDigger. The school's performance on standardized tests, such as the SAT, is generally above the state and regional averages, with 65.5% of 11th-grade students proficient or better in SAT/English Language Arts, compared to the state average of 54.8%, and 34.5% proficient or better in SAT/Math, compared to the state average of 29.5%. Despite the lack of racial diversity, Parish Hill High School has a significant population of students from low-income families, with 37.73% of students qualifying for free or reduced-price lunch in the 2022-2023 school year. This socioeconomic challenge may require the school to allocate additional resources and support to meet the needs of these students. On a positive note, the school has a relatively low student-teacher ratio of 8.4 students per teacher, which suggests an efficient use of resources and the potential for more individualized attention and support for students. Compared to nearby schools like H. H. Ellis Technical High School and Quinebaug Middle College, Parish Hill High School appears to be a strong academic performer, though it faces some challenges in terms of diversity and socioeconomic factors.
