While Dillon Valley Elementary has consistently been ranked in the middle of Colorado elementary schools, receiving a 2-star rating from SchoolDigger in recent years, it faces some challenges. The school's test scores are generally lower than the district and state averages across various subjects and grade levels. For example, in 2024-2025, only 35.9% of Dillon Valley students were proficient or better in CMAS English Language Arts, compared to 42.6% for the district and 44.8% for the state. Dillon Valley Elementary also has high chronic absenteeism rates, ranging from 18.0% to 40.8% in recent years, which is significantly higher than the district and state averages. Additionally, the school has a high percentage of low socioeconomic status students, with 53.41% of students qualifying for free or reduced-price lunch in 2023-2024.

Interestingly, Dillon Valley Elementary's performance is generally lower than the other elementary schools in the Summit School District, such as Breckenridge Elementary, Upper Blue Elementary, and Frisco Elementary, which have higher test scores, lower chronic absenteeism, and serve a lower percentage of low socioeconomic status students. The school's statewide ranking has also declined over the years, suggesting that it is struggling to keep up with the performance of other schools in the state.

Open Quote The Dual Language program is excellent! My spouse and I are always excited to see the progress of our 4th and 1st graders have been making in their more classic studies as well as those undertaken in Spanish. We have enjoyed the interaction with teachers, administration and other engaged parents this school offers. Way to go Dillon Valley Elementary! Close Quote
