Summary

Lincoln Charter Academy is an elementary school serving grades PK-8 in Arvada, Colorado, part of the Jefferson County School District No. R-1. The school has seen fluctuating statewide rankings over the past decade, currently ranking 291 out of 710 Colorado elementary schools, with a consistent 3-star rating from SchoolDigger.

Lincoln Charter Academy excels in serving its low-income student population, ranking in the top 20% of Colorado elementary schools for this subgroup. However, the school has room for improvement in challenging its gifted and talented students, ranking in the bottom 30% for this subgroup. Academically, the school outperforms district and state averages in science and English language arts proficiency, but its math proficiency is on par with the district average. The school also maintains a relatively low dropout rate compared to the state average.

While Lincoln Charter Academy generally outperforms nearby traditional public schools in the district, it lags behind some higher-performing schools like Sierra Elementary in overall academic achievement. The nearby charter school, Excel Academy, has a similar performance profile to Lincoln Charter Academy. The school should focus on addressing its rising chronic absenteeism, which has increased significantly in recent years, as this can negatively impact student learning and performance.

Open Quote We where VERY unhappy with Lincoln Academy. Staff was poor quality, rude and seemed like they didn't like working with kids. We switched schools and look back with sadness that our child had to go there for even 1 year. Don't Choose Lincoln. You will regret it! Close Quote

Open Quote Being new to the area, two of my 4 (so space for the older two) attend here and I've had an awesome experience. Great communication with teachers through email, phone and chatting during pick-up. I love that my K child is practically reading, sounding out 5 letter words or more :-) My 2nd gr. has had great success in learning with help from other teachers b/c of a wonderful IEP meeting!! I'm happy with the amount of parent involvement & volunteers here as well. Close Quote

Open Quote Much better than the neighboring regular public schools. Lately they've been hiring a lot of young and inexperienced teachers so expect performance to slide. One less star because of it. Since they have multiple classrooms for each grade, try to get your child into a classroom with one of the older, more experienced teachers. If you live north of Lincoln, check Woodrow Wilson and Jefferson Academy. Close Quote
