Open Quote While Sierra Elementary has some dedicated staff and offers a variety of activities for kids, my experience with the administration has been deeply troubling. Last school year, my child received a death threat, and I was disappointed by how the administration handled the situation. The school didn't seem to take the threat seriously, which left me feeling that my child's safety wasn’t a top priority.

This year, things took another troubling turn. Without any prior discussion or context, I was shocked to find out that CPS had been contacted due to a video that popped up on my 4-year-old’s YouTube. It was an upsetting and unnecessary escalation, especially considering the lack of communication beforehand.

To top it off, my interaction with the principal during this time was incredibly frustrating. The principal repeatedly talked over me and seemed uninterested in listening to my concerns. It felt as though they weren’t concerned with addressing the issues I was trying to raise, which made an already difficult situation worse.

As a parent, it’s incredibly important to feel that your concerns are taken seriously, and that your child's safety and well-being are a priority. Sadly, my experiences at Sierra Elementary have left me questioning whether this is truly the case. Close Quote
