As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote The current principal is unprofessional. Ryan does not prepare students well for middle school. The middle school transition was difficult mainley due to the lack of homework and study skills. Close Quote

Open Quote We love Ryan Elementary for our son and our family. The teacher that my son has is so caring and didn’t waste any time setting up a meeting with me to discuss my son’s learning goals as he came in struggling with literacy. The support staff are also warm and engaging each time I am there to volunteer, pick up or drop off. I loved that the music teacher knew my son’s name on the first day of school and said bye to him (by name) when he left the school. The pick up and drop off is a breeze in comparison to other schools. Faculty are placed at high traffic areas to ensure the safety of students being dropped off and picked up and also at crosswalks. The PTA is extremely active and is always bringing fun and exciting things to the school to ensure money is being raised and that money is going back to the needs of the school. I am very impressed with the communication from the principal and my son’s teacher. I always feel in the “loop” of the goings on of the school and community. We loved the Hawk Hustle 5k put on by the PTA to raise money for the school! As a former elementary school teacher, I toured many, many, schools before deciding the best fit for my son. We are proud and thankful to call Ryan Elementary our home. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
