Elizabeth High School is a mid-sized public school in Elizabeth, Colorado, serving 668 students in grades 9–12 as part of the Elizabeth School District, which ranks 40th out of 115 Colorado districts. Situated between the large, high-performing suburban schools of Douglas County and Cherry Creek to the west and the small rural schools of Kiowa and Elbert to the east, Elizabeth holds an in-between position, ranking 138th out of 338 high schools statewide (59th percentile, 3 stars) for 2025–2026.

The school's biggest strength is its graduation rate: 96.1% for 2024–2025, far above the state average of 85.6% and on par with top nearby schools like Castle View High School (96.3%) and Chaparral High School (96.9%). Reading and writing outcomes are also strong — 68% of 11th graders scored proficient on SAT Reading/Writing versus 60% statewide. Perhaps most impressive, economically disadvantaged students ranked in the 84th percentile statewide (4 stars), up from the 60th percentile just two years ago, even as the school's free/reduced lunch rate has grown from 13% to 22.6%. Elizabeth remains ahead of rural neighbors Kiowa High School and Elbert Junior-Senior High School, but trails the suburban powerhouses — particularly in math.

The administration at the high school and the superintendent need to be replaced at this school. The superintendent does not have an education background and makes decisions that aren't in the best interest of students. He also runs off good educators but the school board is clueless. The principal and AD at the high school are very much under his wing and won't admit if a mistake has been made that might ruin a student's career. Close Quote

You will find that this school does nothing to help children who struggle with school work. The worse highschool I have ever been part of. I have been in the Cherry Creek School District, as well. I saw some more support there, but EHS is awful. Do your research before you send your child Close Quote
