Open Quote We chose King Murphy bc it’s a small, mountain school with amazing teachers, the principal is one of a kind and the community is exactly what we were looking for. We moved from the mid-west so our children had some adapting to do. The class sizes made that easy-they quickly found best friends that they will continue to be in class with throughout elementary school. The IB curriculum was also an added bonus for this school. All of our kids are thriving bc 1) they are being challenged when needing more work or 2) are given extra help through a variety of resources when needed. In addition to all of this, our school was in-person during the pandemic-a complete blessing. I’d encourage anyone considering KM to reach out to the principal. He met with us personally and gave us a tour of the school prior to enrolling our kids. We couldn’t be happier w our decision! Close Quote

Open Quote What matters most for me as a parent of a child at King-Murphy Elementary school is that my child really likes school! His confidence is boosted every day despite some learning challenges, and he is loved and supported tremendously by his teachers. It continues to amaze me how much much he is growing and learning in this environment. In the 4 years that my child has been at the school, he has had nothing but possitive experiences with, in my opinion, very qualified caring teachers, Yes, the school has experienced it's ups and downs in the past few years, but truly is "the grass greener on the other side"? We as parents always need to be our child's advocate. For any issues I may have had with King-Murphy, they have always been addressed well by both the principal and the teachers. I am very content with the intimate class room sizes, the curriculum, and the support at the school. Thumbs up to King-Murphy! Close Quote

Open Quote We specifically moved to Colorado to attend King-Murphy. Our kids are in Kindergarten and 1st grade. The teachers are competent, compassionate, and caring. Our expectations have been exceeded! Our kids are learning more that we ever dreamed, and talking to us about cultures and lifestyles from across the world. Our daughter has some specific needs and her teacher is more than willing to accommodate those needs. We love King-Murphy and would recommend anyone to bring their child here! Close Quote

Open Quote King-Murphy Elementary School is a place where high academic expectations are balanced well with creating kids of character. The students who attend King-Murphy look forward to their school days, and the graduates who leave King-Murphy are well prepared to succeed as they enter middle school. My family lives outside of the Clear Creek School District boundaries, but made the choice to enroll our children here, and we haven't regretted it for one minute.
As is the case in any organization, there have been challenges imposed by changes in leadership - some of which I can only assume have lead to the negative comments made by others previously. The current group of educators and administration are steering King-Murphy in the right direction, and our children are thriving. We appreciate the small school setting, the attention to each child's individual needs, the access to art, foreign language, physical education, and music in all grades, and the IB curriculum which are offered here.
King-Murphy has long been respected for its' high academic achievement and strong base of dedicated and involved parents. Neither of these are changing. Close Quote

Open Quote My family just moved to the Evergreen area this fall. We looked into several schools, and while they all seemed wonderful, we settled on King Murphy as being the one that seemed to fit our family the best. There has not been a single passing day that we have second guessed our choice. King Murphy is an amazing school. The staff and student body are wonderful. They are caring, kind, thoughtful and have truly welcomed my girls with open arms. My young children have settled right into a routine, and find themselves surrounded by people who care for them, and look out for their needs. They both love coming to school. I find the teachers hard working, and truly pay attention to the individual needs of the students. The small school size makes each classroom size wonderful, and the school as a whole small and nurturing. My daughter, who performs at a high academic level is challenged by the IB program, and what it offers in upper level thinking and learning. She has grown so much this year in her confidence, academics and love for learning. My youngest in pre-K cannot WAIT to start Kindergarten next year.

The office is complete, professional, and on top of things. The principal is very open, and has listened attentively to concerns, criticisms and complements that we have had about the school. I feel that as parents, our perspective is welcome, our concerns are addressed, and we are truly cared about as a family, and a part of the school community, not just a number they are thankful for. I feel that everyone works together to constantly improve, reflect and strive to be the best school they can create.

I have loved our year at King Murphy, and am so thankful for all that it has provided my two young children. Close Quote

Open Quote Caring teachers and staff, smart IB curriculum, small class sizes - King Murphy is a wonderful school and my 2 children have thrived in this environment. The teachers are dedicated and involved - I feel that they truly care and want to help each child be the best he or she can be. The administration is new, but I feel they are on the right track by making good decisions for King-Murphy and the community. Close Quote

Open Quote King-Murphy is the only International Baccalaureate World School in the area. We live in Jeffco and choose to send our kids to King-Murphy because of the small class size, the dedicated and invested teachers, staff, and principal as well as the school's focus on character development, inquiry and concept based instruction. Not to mention the amazingly kind, caring, and supportive parent community at KM. The school has gone through several major changes in the last few years and has resiliently kept the focus of what is in the student's best interests at heart! The school continues to grow and improve its IB program and instructional quality. Our kids have flourished in King-Murphy's welcoming and caring environment and they love their school! We are proud to be King-Murphy Eagles and a part of the Clear Creek School District. Close Quote

Open Quote I have been very frustrated with my experience with King Murphy. The communication is poor, there are ongoing problems that are never addressed with behavior, supervision, and saftey fo the school grounds. With a new superintendent and principal there was a glimmer of hope that some of these issues would be addressed, but once again the leadership has miserably failed. At this point there is not much redeeming and I will not be able to send my child to this school once the year concludes. Close Quote

Open Quote Poor communication, poor program for managing discipline/behavior problems, poor special ed team that routinely mis-identifies children's needs, poor G&T program ... the list goes on and on. Free full-day kindergarten sucked us in initially. BIG mistake on our part! Close Quote
