Cherry Creek High School is a large comprehensive public high school in Greenwood Village, Colorado, serving 3,852 students in grades 9–12 as part of the Cherry Creek School District No. 5. It is one of Colorado's premier public high schools, ranking 25th out of 338 high schools statewide (93rd percentile) with a 5-star rating in 2025–2026. Over the past decade, Cherry Creek has consistently ranked among the state's top 25 schools, peaking at 5th in 2017–2018 (99th percentile).

Cherry Creek's academic results are dramatically above district and state averages. On the 11th grade SAT, 83% of students met the reading/writing benchmark and 60% met the math benchmark, versus state averages of 60% and 32%. Science proficiency was a standout: 65.5% of 11th graders were proficient on the CMAS Science exam, more than double the district rate (29.5%) and nearly triple the state rate (24.8%). The school also graduates students at a very high rate (95.7% vs. 85.6% statewide) with a dropout rate of just 0.7%. Chronic absenteeism sits at 17.7%, far below the state rate of 28.4%. Cherry Creek also produces notably strong outcomes for traditionally underserved student groups. English Language Learner students ranked 2nd in the state, disabled students ranked 6th, and low-income students ranked in the 89th percentile — an unusual achievement for a large suburban high school. The one relative soft spot is the Gifted and Talented subgroup, ranked in the 72nd percentile in 2025–2026. The school's statewide ranking has slipped slightly from its 99th-percentile peak in 2017–2018, but it remains comfortably in the top 10% of Colorado high schools. With more than 3,800 students and a student-teacher ratio of 20.6, Cherry Creek demonstrates that a very large comprehensive high school can deliver elite results and strong support systems for a diverse student body.
