Calhan Secondary School is a small rural combined middle/high school in Calhan, Colorado, serving 213 students in grades 6–12 as part of Calhan District No. RJ1. Although its district is rated in the 35th percentile statewide, the school has consistently earned 3-star ratings and currently ranks in the 51st percentile of Colorado high schools. About half of Calhan's students qualify for free or reduced lunch, and the school maintains a 9.4-to-1 student-teacher ratio, one of the lowest in the area.

Calhan's most striking strength is its graduation rate, which has ranged from 92.3% to 100% over the past five years—consistently well above the state average. This compares favorably with nearby Patriot High School, where only 68.4% of students graduate. Calhan also posts low chronic absenteeism of 17.2% versus the state average of 28.4%, and dramatically outperforms Falcon High School (56.6%) and Patriot High School (51.9%).
