Six report 2025–26 test results, while Gateway International’s latest results are from 2024–25. The clearest finding is that Mariemont Elementary leads all three tested subjects, with especially large gaps separating the highest- and lowest-scoring schools in math and science.
Mariemont scored 66% in ELA, 59% in math and 67% in science in 2025–26—about 20, 30 and 27 percentage points above the next-highest school in each subject. It also exceeded state rates by 17 points in ELA, 21 in math and 31 in science. At the other end, Thomas Edison Language Institute K-8 had the lowest ELA and science results, at 29% and 19%; both were below state rates, by 20 and 17 points. San Juan Choices Charter had the lowest math result, 11%, or 28 points below the state. Sierra Oaks K-8 stands out in science at 39%, above the state’s 36%.
Across the six schools with current results, the average moved from 2024–25 to 2025–26 by −5 percentage points in ELA, −2 in math and +3 in science; science stayed about 3 points below the state, while the ELA and math gaps widened. Choices pairs the lowest math score with the area’s lowest chronic absenteeism, 9% versus 18% statewide; its graduation rate was 76% versus 88% statewide. Reported free/reduced lunch eligible shares in 2024–25 ranged from 27% at Mariemont to 77% at Edison; reported student-teacher ratios ranged from 14.6 at Choices to 25.6 at Mariemont. Comparisons are not fully like-for-like because schools serve different grade spans and Gateway’s latest results are from 2024–25.
