Summary:
Zip code 94110 has nine schools: eight elementary schools, including two K–8 schools, and one high school, serving families in San Francisco. In the latest results, from 2025–2026, the eight schools with scores averaged 22% in English language arts (ELA), 14% in math and 14% in science, compared with California averages of 49%, 38% and 36%. The most important finding is that local proficiency averages were well below state results in all three subjects.
Results vary considerably by school and subject. Moscone Elementary led the latest ELA results at 33%, 7 percentage points above Buena Vista/Horace Mann at 26%. Serra Elementary narrowly led math at 25.0%, just ahead of Moscone at 24.7%; Flynn Elementary led science at 27%, 7 points above Serra. At the lower end, Revere Elementary had the lowest reported ELA result, 13%, while Chavez Elementary had the lowest science result, 4%; the lowest math result was 0% at O’Connell High. For an earlier-year bright spot, Mission Preparatory scored 55% in ELA and 39% in math in 2024–2025, above state results by 7 and 2 points, respectively.
Across the same eight schools, average proficiency fell from 2024–2025 to 2025–2026 by 2 points in ELA, 3 in math and 2 in science, while state results rose in each subject; the local average gap widened in all three. Individual patterns differ: Moscone’s ELA rose 6 points, while Flynn’s ELA and math each fell by more than 11 points. SchoolDigger’s rankings also offer mixed context: Revere remained at the 1st percentile across three years, while Mission Preparatory was at the 65th percentile in its latest available year, 2024–2025. All nine schools reported free/reduced lunch eligible shares for 2024–2025, ranging from 63% at Flynn to 84% at Mission Preparatory; these are context, not an explanation for scores. Results cover different grade spans and Mission Preparatory has no 2025–2026 scores, so comparisons are not fully like-for-like.
