Summary:
ZIP code 94015 has 13 schools: nine elementary schools, two middle schools and two high schools, serving students from elementary through high-school grades. In 2025–26, the 12 schools with results averaged 50% proficiency in ELA, 43% in math and 32% in science; the state results were 49%, 38% and 36%, respectively. The most important finding is that results vary substantially from one school to another, so ZIP-wide averages hide meaningful differences for families comparing schools.
Among the eight K–5 schools, Thomas Edison Elementary led in ELA at 69%, while Marjorie H. Tobias Elementary (Tobias) led in math at 65% and science at 53%. Junipero Serra Elementary also exceeded state results in all three subjects. At the lower end, Garden Village Elementary had the lowest ELA result among schools with 2025–26 data, at 32%; Benjamin Franklin Intermediate had the lowest math result, at 26%; and Daniel Webster Elementary had the lowest science result, at 14%. The K–5 schools’ top-to-bottom gaps were 36 points in ELA, 30 in math and 39 in science. Fernando Rivera Intermediate led the middle schools in all three subjects, ahead of Franklin by 28 points in ELA, 25 in math and 20 in science. For 2024–25, Summit Public School: Shasta led Westmoor High in ELA and math, while Westmoor was slightly higher in science.
Recent changes differ by school level: the K–5 schools’ average fell by 3 points in ELA, 3 in math and 6 in science from 2024–25 to 2025–26, while the two middle schools’ averages rose by 5, 7 and 6 points. Rivera improved in all three subjects; SchoolDigger’s statewide ranking also rose from the 71st to the 79th percentile, while Edison rose from the 62nd to the 78th. As context, the schools report free/reduced lunch eligible for 2024–25: Tobias was at 36%, compared with 61% at Webster and 60% at Garden Village; these figures describe eligibility and do not explain test results. Comparisons across schools should also account for their different grade spans, and Shasta has no 2025–26 results.
