Summary:
ZIP code 93704 has seven Fresno Unified elementary schools: one serving kindergarten through fifth grade, three serving kindergarten through sixth, and three serving kindergarten through eighth. Their 2025–2026 all-grades averages were 41% in English language arts, 32% in math and 27% in science, below California’s 49%, 38% and 36%, respectively. Results vary substantially from school to school, and only Bullard Talent and Morris E. Dailey Charter exceeded the state rate in all three subjects.
Morris E. Dailey led in ELA, at 63%, and science, at 55%; those results were 13 and 19 percentage points above the state rates. Bullard Talent had the highest math result, 51%, 12 points above the state, and was also strong in ELA and science. SchoolDigger’s statewide rankings place Bullard at the 81st percentile and Morris at the 75th. At the other end, Del Mar ranked last among the seven in every subject, with 26% in ELA, 18% in math and 9% in science—24, 20 and 27 points below state rates. The science spread between the highest and lowest schools was 46 percentage points.
Year-to-year results were mixed: the group’s average science score rose 4 percentage points, narrowing its gap with the state by 1 point, while ELA and math averages were nearly unchanged as state rates rose. Bullard improved in all three subjects; Powers-Ginsburg declined in all three. SchoolDigger’s three-year ranking rose 10 percentile points for Bullard and 13 for Wawona, while Hamilton fell 17. Wawona’s all-grades results also hide a grade-level split: its third- and sixth-grade ELA and math rates exceeded state rates, while its seventh- and eighth-grade ELA rates were well below them. As context, in 2024–2025, free/reduced lunch eligible shares were 45% at Morris, 47% at Bullard and 94% at Del Mar; these figures describe the schools, not a cause of their results. Morris had the highest listed student–teacher ratio, 22.2, despite leading in ELA and science.
