Summary:

ZIP code 92057 has six elementary schools: most serve kindergarten through grade five, Bonsall West Elementary serves through grade six, and Scholarship Prep - Oceanside serves kindergarten through grade eight. Five schools have 2025–2026 results; Scholarship Prep’s latest results are from 2024–2025. The 2025–2026 average for the five schools was above the state in ELA, math, and science by 4, 7, and 8 percentage points, respectively, but results varied widely by school. The key takeaway for families is that ZIP code averages do not describe a consistent performance profile across these schools.

Ivey Ranch Elementary led the 2025–2026 group in ELA and math, with 66% and 58% proficiency—16 points above the other four schools’ average in each subject, and 17 and 20 points above the state. Bonsall West led in science at 59%, 19 points above the other four schools’ average and 23 points above the state. At the lower end, Libby Elementary had the lowest ELA and math results, at 40% and 36%; Nichols Elementary had the lowest science result, at 31%. In 2024–2025, when all six schools had results, Bonsall West led in all three subjects and Nichols had the lowest results in all three.

Across the five schools with results in both years, average science proficiency rose 11 percentage points from 2024–2025 to 2025–2026, ELA rose 4 points, and math was nearly flat. That pattern was not shared by every school: Libby fell 7 points in ELA and 11 in math, while its science result rose 11 points; Nichols and Del Rio Elementary each gained 11 points in ELA. SchoolDigger’s statewide percentile rankings rose from 2023–2024 to 2025–2026 at Del Rio, from 41 to 58, and Nichols, from 39 to 53; Libby fell from 53 to 49. The schools’ 2024–2025 free/reduced lunch eligible shares ranged from 38% at Bonsall West to 89% at Libby; these are school-level context, not an explanation of results. Scholarship Prep’s 2024–2025 scores are from a different year, so they should not be compared directly with the other schools’ 2025–2026 results.
