ZIP code 92026 has two middle schools, Mission Middle and Rincon Middle; both serve grades 6–8, making their results directly comparable. In 2025–2026, proficiency at Rincon was 38% in ELA, 26% in math and 30% in science; at Mission, it was 31%, 16% and 20%. Both schools were below state results in all three subjects. The clearest overall finding is that Rincon leads locally, but neither school reaches state proficiency in any subject.
Rincon stands out at the top in all-grades results, leading Mission by 8 percentage points in ELA, 9 in math and 11 in science.
