Summary:
The eight elementary schools in zip code 91706 are in Baldwin Park Unified, enroll between 409 and 662 students, and serve kindergarten through grade 5, except Vineland Elementary, which serves K–8. In 2025–2026, the schools’ average results were 34% in English language arts (ELA), 30% in math, and 21% in science, compared with state results of 49%, 38%, and 36%. Math was the group’s strongest subject relative to the state, but the average was still 9 points lower. The most important takeaway is that results vary sharply: Kenmore Elementary was near the state in ELA and above it in math, while the eight-school averages fell below state results in all three subjects.
Kenmore Elementary led all three subjects, with 49% in ELA, 40% in math, and 33% in science. It was 2 points above the state in math and 3 points below in science; its ELA result was nearly equal to the state’s. De Anza Elementary ranked second in all three subjects, at 38%, 36%, and 29%. At the lower end, Vineland Elementary had the lowest ELA result at 26%, Charles Bursch Elementary the lowest math result at 18%, and Ernest R. Geddes Elementary the lowest science result at 7%. The highest-to-lowest spreads were 23 points in ELA, 23 in math, and 26 in science.
Recent trends differ by subject: all eight schools’ ELA results declined from 2024–2025, and the school average fell 4 points; math rose by 1 point on average, while science was essentially unchanged as the state science result increased by 3 points. Tracy Elementary had the largest science increase, up 8 points. Similar reported measures do not guarantee similar results: Kenmore Elementary and Walnut Elementary had similar free/reduced lunch eligible figures (87% and 89%, school year 2024–2025) and student-teacher ratios (24.2 and 24.5), yet Kenmore scored 18 points higher in ELA, 7 in math, and 11 in science. The income figures are context, not an explanation of achievement. Vineland’s K–8 span also makes its all-grades results less directly comparable with those of K–5 schools.
