Summary:
Schools in ZIP code 91387 are four K–6 elementary schools in the Sulphur Springs Union district. In 2025–2026, their average results were just above the state in ELA, math and science, but the schools’ results varied substantially. The most important takeaway is that the area-wide averages hide a clear divide between the strongest and weakest school results.
Pinetree Community Elementary led all three subjects, with 58% proficient in ELA, 45% in math and 48% in science; Mitchell Community Elementary had the lowest results, at 40%, 36% and 34%, respectively. That is a gap of 18 points in ELA, 9 in math and 14 in science. Pinetree’s results also exceeded the average of the other three schools by 11 points in ELA, 5 in math and 11 in science. SchoolDigger ranks Pinetree in the 71st percentile with 4 stars, compared with Mitchell in the 47th percentile with 2 stars. Fair Oaks Ranch Community and Sulphur Springs Community Elementary have more mixed subject results: both are above the state in math and science, while Sulphur Springs is slightly below it in ELA.
Science is improving overall: the four-school average rose 5 points between 2024–2025 and 2025–2026, while ELA fell 3 points and math fell 1. Pinetree’s science result climbed 15 points, but Mitchell’s fell 3, so the gains were not shared by every school. The average lead over the state narrowed in ELA, from 4 points to 1, and in math, from 5 to 3. Context measures also do not neatly order the schools by results: free/reduced lunch eligible figures for 2024–2025 ranged from 50% at Sulphur Springs and 51% at Pinetree to 55% at Fair Oaks Ranch and 68% at Mitchell. Student–teacher ratios ranged from 22.5 at Sulphur Springs to 27 at Fair Oaks Ranch; these figures are context, not explanations of achievement.
