ZIP code 91010 has three public high schools serving grades 9–12: California School of the Arts - San Gabriel Valley (CSArts), Duarte High, and Mt. Olive Innovation and Technology High. In 2024–2025, all three reported English and math proficiency results, while only CSArts and Duarte reported science results. The most important finding is the large difference in reported academic outcomes between schools in the same ZIP code.

CSArts was the clear academic standout in 2024–2025: 87% were proficient in English and 50% in math, compared with 62% and 34% at Duarte, and 25% and 0% at Mt. Olive. CSArts was 38 percentage points above California in English and 13 points above in math; Mt. Olive was 24 points below the state in English and 37 points below in math. In science, CSArts had 65% proficiency and Duarte 36%, both above the state’s 33%; Mt. Olive had no reported result. SchoolDigger ranked CSArts 105th of 2,162 schools, at the 95th percentile with five stars, in 2024–2025.

Recent results show different patterns at the other two schools. At Duarte, English proficiency fell from 62% in 2024–2025 to 53% in 2025–2026, while math edged up from 34% to 35%; its latest science result was 33%, below California’s 36%. Mt. Olive’s English result fell from 25% to 4%, while math rose from 0% to 7%; its latest science score was suppressed. SchoolDigger’s percentile for Mt. Olive fell from 18 in 2023–2024 to 6 in 2025–2026, while Duarte’s latest percentile was 61. Mt. Olive’s 2025–2026 graduation rate was 95%, but chronic absenteeism was 78%, versus 18% statewide. As context, in 2024–2025 free/reduced lunch eligible figures were 20% at CSArts, 77% at Duarte, and 87% at Mt. Olive; student-teacher ratios were 15.5, 20.4, and 11.7, respectively.
