Summary

Stonegate Elementary is a large, high-performing K-6 public school serving 1,037 students in the highly-regarded Irvine Unified school district, consistently ranking among the top 3% of all California elementary schools.

The school stands out for its exceptional and equitable support for all students, particularly those who may need extra help. It achieves state rankings in the 99th-100th percentile for students from low-income families, English learners, and those in special education, meaning it supports these groups better than nearly every other school in California. This strength in serving diverse needs is a key differentiator, even when compared to a top-performing neighbor like Santiago Hills Elementary. Furthermore, Stonegate fosters an outstanding culture of attendance, with a chronic absenteeism rate of just 4%, which is less than half the district average.

Interestingly, Stonegate maintains this elite status while operating very efficiently. It has a higher student-to-teacher ratio than most nearby schools like Brywood Elementary and Eastwood Elementary, and does so with lower per-student spending, demonstrating a highly effective instructional model. While a specialized school like Irvine Chinese Immersion Academy may have higher math scores, Stonegate delivers comprehensive excellence for a general population. Its consistent, top-tier results make it a premier choice for families in Irvine.

Open Quote Horrible. My kid was bullied by a whole team on playground and the school team failed to support him. Instead, he was punished by his 6th grade teacher. My child was traumatized by this experience and does not want to go back to school again after he graduated. Close Quote
