Summary

Quartz Hill Elementary serves 845 students in kindergarten through grade 6 in Quartz Hill, a community in the Antelope Valley. In 2025–26, its all-grades English language arts (ELA) results were just above the California average, math was somewhat below, and science was substantially below. The most important finding is the sharp difference by grade: sixth-grade math was a standout, with 59% of students proficient, while math results in grades 3–5 were below the state in every grade and schoolwide science proficiency was 24%.

ELA is the school’s strongest subject against state and district results: 50% were proficient, compared with 49% statewide and 46% in the Westside Union Elementary district. Math was 36%, below the state’s 38% but above the district’s 33%. Science was the clearest weakness, at 24% versus 36% statewide and 28% in the district. Among seven nearby Westside Union schools serving kindergarten through grade 6, Quartz Hill ranked third in ELA and math and fourth in science. Sixth-grade math was the highest among those schools, while sixth-grade ELA ranked second. The all-grades figures therefore mask especially strong sixth-grade results.

Over time, math has improved: it rose 8 percentage points from 28% in 2022–23 to 36% in 2025–26, although it dipped from 38% the prior year. Science moved the other way, falling 10 points to 24% as the state result rose; chronic absenteeism, meanwhile, dropped 14 points in the latest year to 12%, below district and state levels. In 2024–25, the student-teacher ratio was 25.6, and 63% of students were eligible for free/reduced lunch. SchoolDigger’s group rankings also differ notably: English Language Learner Students ranked at the 4th percentile in 2023–24, versus 57th percentile overall that year, while Special Education Students ranked at the 67th percentile in 2025–26, versus 52nd overall.
